The CD-ROM

The KPT Bryce Book:The CD Rom

The CD-ROM for The KPT Bryce Book contains over 600 megabytes of files and resources. It is a Macintosh-only CD-ROM. The content is organized into 8 overall categories.

Here’s a brief description of each category:

More Info for each chapter

Arranged by chapter, this section contains scene files for the images used in the book. In addition, there are supplementary scene files for related material, some slide shows of step-by-step constructions, and resource files for scene construction.

Gallery of Bryce Images

Images by over 60 different people, representing the wide range of work being done with Bryce. Some images have scene files, so that you can open them up and see how they did what they did.

Eric, Kai and Susan

A collection of images and scene files by Eric Wenger, creator of Bryce, Kai Krause, and the author, Susan Kitchens. View the images in a slide show, or open them up in Bryce and sleuth away!

DEM information

Use United States Geological Survey topographical information to create Bryce scenes! This little trove describes all the hoops you need to jump through to get from DEM to there. (Since you’re already reading this on the web, youõre at least one “hoop” ahead!) There are some sample DEM files for you to play with, and a copy of the freeware DEMview, by Ken Badertscher, that allows you to convert from Information about the USGS information

About this site

Formerly “All Things Bryce” this site is home to the professional consulting business of Susan A. Kitchens, AuntiAlias & Associates.

What is AuntiAlias, anyhow?

AuntiAlias is a pun on the word antialias. In computer graphics, anti-aliasing is the process of adding what seems to be blurry in-between pixels to smooth the image so it won't appear so "jaggy." The pun came about in the early days of Bryce, the 3D landscape software. Bryce's final rendering pass is anti-aliasing. On the software's support boards, I'd sign my posts as "Auntie Alias." I thought, "Hey, I'll make that into a screen name!" The 10-character limit resulted in this spelling you see here: auntialias.
