george: Well, lets say that i want a very specific texture, perhaps a preset from the

miscelanious or rocks and stones

and i want to use that as my B or C channel....

it isn't really necessarity

MetaBrian: In the same material, or different?

george: to have that be a part of my Texture preset library

Calyxa: there used to be a 'copy texture' ability in B1...

MetaBrian: You'd have to add it, there is no way to copy without going through the presets

Calyxa: when I lock objects down, I'd still like to be able to "land" other objects onto the locked one, but locked objects seem to be invisible to other objects that are "landing"... any suggestions?

MetaBrian: Hmmm, Cal, that's odd....

gdmsynth: I get the same.

MetaBrian: I'll look into why we did that. I can't recall if there is a good reason or not

AuntiAlias: one thing i've noticed about locked objects.. that I like...

MetaBrian: If not, we'll make them visible to the landers, as you request

AuntiAlias: is that you can select "through" them...

Calyxa: yeah

AuntiAlias: don't know if the same ability to seem present/absent to a select click is related to what it would take to detect object's presence to land upon

MetaBrian: As I think about it though, I could se wanting it to work both ways...

Calyxa: that thought occurred to me as well...

's a case of trying to provide for the most common case...

Clark/CDS: or to have an option when you "lock"

Calyxa: maybe two landing options, land to first object, land to first unlocked object..?

I understand that it's the size it is now, cuz of the screen resolutions that were around way back when

Calyxa: how come 'launch to previous' doesn't remember where the tool palettes were?? I got out of the habit of moving the tool palettes and using maximized interface because of having to drag the palettes around _every time_... but I'm back to max UI 'cuz of the

toolbar remaining visible

Calyxa: did that not show up to you guys or what?

ahole: pallets seem to appear at the right places. Is there something you're not telling us perhaps?

Calyxa: I've got the interface maximized... I drag the create palette down to just above the anim/selection palette...

and the edit one goes under the sky and fog... and sky and fog stays put.

then when I quit and re-launch, they're all on top of each other again...

the UI is still maxed, tho

ahole: I see. Yeah, this is a bug. When there is a wrong order of operations. We first put up the palettes and the call maximize

which puts them into the default maximized positions. It works, it the interface is not maximized just fine.

DonaldSGriffin: Can Bryce be set to "Autosave" in other than BMP format? (PC) JPG or TIF would be better (and smaller!)

Calyxa: I just tried it not maxed, and they first appeared where I'd put them, but then reset to all on top of each other.

desdanova: If I drag the palettes around to a place that I like them, how can I save that so that each scene I open they are in that position? Almost the same as Caly's but when I OPEN another scene the palletes snap back. Lets kill this horse! :)

doing 'new scene' also gets you the default default, not your own default.br4...

ahole: Yeah there is a bug, somewhere with the palettes. There're so many cases, it's hard to keep track of all of them

Calyxa: palettes shouldn't move unless specifically moved

MetaBrian: I think we save the palette info with both the scene and the app

desdanova: nope, not that i've seen

ahole: Yeah, true enough, but there is too many conditions to try fullill

MetaBrian: We'll revisit these palette issues for 5...

it's frustrating for us because these things used to work..

JeffP: Any chance that Bryce Talk could be integrated further into Bryce...say a "talk" object in a scene, so I can arrange my "liviing room" while chating or set up a room full of chat logs?
