MetaJohn: No idea Kath KathG: :) AuntiAlias: and.... KathG, I don't know what to tell you about the metastream.. sowwy! KathG: Hi Beartrap Arby: hi everyone Gadget: Hi arby Schbeurd: Hi Arby MetaJohn: Arby KathG: OK no problem it is working again now :) DreamVoyager: back. Hi all who have entered sinc eI was last here :-) jeon: hi.. many friends.. Schbeurd: HI jeon. Insomny again ? Gadget: ho Jaon MetaJohn: No one with Bryce type questions? DreamVoyager: Yes, AA... I ALWAYS have Bryce projects going on... :-) MetaJohn: Hi Jeon Gadget: that was a mess.... AuntiAlias: Tell us about your current one.... what you're doing.. any challenges you're encountering with this one : ) DreamVoyager: Yes, I met an anomaly the other day... I made a light (spot), copied it, changed the copy to a bulb, repositioned it, did a new copy of that one, repositioned it as well... then when I moved the timeline, all fell back into the position of the original.. AuntiAlias: hmmm... I've seen that one before too, with some things where items are copied from one scene to the other.... DreamVoyager: I had set key frames to the new lights... but to no avail... for a oong time... I had to do some heavy re-timelining to get things positioned and STAYing positioned AuntiAlias: is the scene you are working on an animation, or did the timeline just happen to accidentally record a keyframe for something? DreamVoyager: It was the same scene AuntiAlias: also items copied and pasted in the same scene DreamVoyager: Im making a lighting project, inspired by a japanese Shinto garden. AuntiAlias: cool! Anon: When will the patch be out for Bryce 4? AuntiAlias: DV: "I had set key frames to the new lights... but to no avail..." could you tell us a bit more what you mean by that? DreamVoyager: its an animation... the lights go on and off at various intervalls AuntiAlias: so how'd you solve it? MetaJohn: Very soon Anon Darreng: hi all DreamVoyager: When I had copy/pasted the light, changed it into a bulb, I repositioned it, and gave it a keyframe. jeon: http://www.ip.co.kr/mynewimage.jpg is my new bryce image. DreamVoyager: Hi Darreng Schbeurd: Hi Darreng jeon: hi.Darreng Arby: yes I have one, there was a recent thread on the list re: greyscale levels in the TE. It was rumoured in B2 that it was better to cut n paste into the TE rather than use the 'picture' button. Does this still hold with B4? I for one cannot see a difference. hi dannen AuntiAlias: so giving it a keyframe solved the problem? I figure that clearing all keys for that particular object might also solve it KathG: Looks great jeon :) DreamVoyager: I ksolved it by painstakingly removing all keyframes from all lights and redoing the keyframes AuntiAlias: you can clear keyframes in the AML by selecting the little white bar and then deleting it Darreng: Are you going to the Bryce get together Bob? jeon: thanks..KathG MetaJohn: What a drag AuntiAlias: I've got a couple of theories about lights, keyframes and all that... Arby: not this time around Darren. AuntiAlias: when modeling the scene, switch Auto Key off jeon: today.. brycetalk is very cool..nice.. AuntiAlias: and then when animating, put it on again MetaJohn: Why Susan? DreamVoyager: No... giving it a keyframe did not solve the problem, for as soon as I moved the timeline the lights jumped back to the original objects position and refused to further acknowledge the keyframe position I gave it... but deleating ALL keyframes of ALL ... ...lihts solved it. AuntiAlias: well, for some reason, if a key is recorded for an object at 00.00 and the object is duplicated at .... what Dream Voyager said! : ) keyboard short cut to remove all keys: DreamVoyager: I did that the first day... ;-) AutoKey is no fun... AuntiAlias: this is the mac one: command optioons, control shift and then click the remove keyframe (minus) button windows would be control, alt shift and click remove keyframe button, I'd imagine..... dont' know if the windows button needs to be pressed or not... but it probably wouldn't hurt to press it, too MetaJohn: Back from Bryce, yes it is MetaJohn: on Windows george: it's a party! MetaJohn: Hi george Gadget: hi george Schbeurd: Hi george jeon: Hi george george: Hello everyone! Anon: Hiya G george: wow! AuntiAlias: yep! It's Tuesday evening in Europe!! So we're talking here! Darreng: hello george: I hear an echo sorry! Anon: The regular event AuntiAlias: there was another comment made a while back... george: i'll be good n quite DreamVoyager: Thanks! Iv had a hastle with finding how to remove all keyframes! (I know I should digest the copulating instructions, but I have lent it to a friend, hoping to inspire him to get B4) AuntiAlias: let me go and copy and paste it Darreng: what are we talking about AA? george: good n quiet even AuntiAlias: lol re: copulating! ; ) george: lol Gadget: lol AuntiAlias: Darreng, it's a combo of tips/tricks, Q & A and discussion of current projects (and challenges and new findings) DreamVoyager: (sounds nicer than RTFM) AuntiAlias: here's one that Arby posted a bit ago: Arby: yes I have one, there was a recent thread on the list re: greyscale levels in the TE. It was rumoured in B2 that it was better to cut n paste into the TE rather than use the 'picture' button. Does this still hold with B4? I for one cannot see a diffe Darreng: He asked me that two weeks ago... AuntiAlias: difference MetaJohn: That was prompted by you george, I believe AuntiAlias: so far as I know.... you can copy and paste directly using key commands and all is well Arby: never got an answer ...did I? AuntiAlias: I have noticed the followign at Bryce camp, tho DreamVoyager: (who could guess that of George?) :-) george: Aha Darreng: lol sorry Bob... I didn't know but when I tried it out... there didn't seem to be much of a difference... AuntiAlias: if you are working in Photoshop or another image app to create or work on a grayscale image.... and you're working using Windows OS MetaJohn: Same levels of gray etc which ever way you do it george: My guess is that that rumor has something to do with the number of levels that other editing apps can handle AuntiAlias: you may need to change your image to RGB, even tho all the image information is grayscale Darreng: yes... it seemed the same AuntiAlias: in order for it to properly paste to Bryce's terrain editor Darreng: right Arby: John, will MC be exhibiting at any UK graphic shows? there is usually a largish ( for here ) one in London around November time. MetaJohn: But Bryce has its internal limitation george george: Yeah....it seems like there was a kernal of truthto that rumor but not much of onw... AuntiAlias: also Darreng: what a faff!! MetaJohn: I think so Arby, I will find out
