AuntiAlias: Martin, please tell us a bit about your background as an artist.

mmurphy: Humm, well, I've always been an artist of some sorts. I was influenced by my Mother who was an antique dealer...

...and i was always surrounded by wonderful art and antiques....

mmurphy: My parents let me do anything art-wise as a child. (I've destroyed more of my poor mother's clothes to make things)...

mmurphy: I found the teachers wonderful, but the students hard-nosed.

mmurphy: I think I have tried every type of media in OCA except oils. I started with oils years later when I needed some art for my humble apartment

mmurphy: My favorite artist, John Singer Sargent painted is portraits lifesize, and I figured I follow in his footsteps (or try at least)

mmurphy: (smile)

I first saw Bryce in a magazine article...

mmurphy: It was a review (and glowing one at that) for Bryce 2. The huge double page spred caught my eye and I had to have it!

mmurphy: I launch it almost everyday.

mmurphy: I approach it like any other major project...

mmurphy: I do sketches first (if it's a complicated scene) then do many...

mmurphy: test renders if I'm trying a new effect or texture...

KPT John: Did you do traditional art before you got Bryce?

Morpheus: mmurphy=much more orginized that Morpheus

mmurphy: ...you can spend hours in Photoshop, Painter and other programs well before..
